Southeast Technical College

Students, faculty and staff volunteered at the St. Francis House in Sioux Falls as part of Southeast Technical College's Service to Community (STC) Days. The volunteers prepared nearly 500 Trunk or Treat giveaways for an upcoming event and packed about 50 sack lunches for working guests of the St. Francis House. The St. Francis is a local homeless shelter that welcomes individuals of all backgrounds. Its mission is: "Moving people from homelessness to hope."

Thirty-four students, faculty and staff members volunteered their time preparing and serving meals at the Bishop Dudley Hospitality House in Sioux Falls. The effort was part of Southeast Technical College's Service to Community (STC) Days, that take place twice each year.

Volunteers from Southeast Technical College's Early Childhood and Construction Management programs spent part of their day on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at ReStore, assisting with major organization projects and cleaning.

More than 100 STC volunteers packed 22,680 meals at Kids Against Hunger this October as part of Southeast Technical College's Service to Community (STC) Days.

Southeast Technical College students in Media Communications and Business programs, along with general education courses, volunteered with staff and faculty to take part in "Rake the Town," a city-wide raking event dedicated to helping seniors and individuals with disabilities. The project is part of Southeast Tech's twice-annual Service to Community (STC) Days-a time for students and staff to focus on civil engagement and giving back to their community.

Sixteen Medical Assisting students took part in the annual Health Connect Fair in Sioux Falls. Students chose a topic for their booth and created information to interact with an estimated 600 participants. This marks the 5th year the Medical Assisting program has participated in the event.

Students and employees from Southeast Technical College spent a few hours at Lunch is Served, a local non-profit organization that delivers sack lunches for working men and women attempting to break the chains of poverty and hunger with a full day manual labor, without the benefit of a noon meal.
