STC Graduate Outcomes Report Highlights Strong Career Success for Students
College Offers 40 Programs with 100% In-Field Placement Rate
Sioux Falls, SD (07/08/2026) — When students graduate from Southeast Technical College (STC), they don't wait long to start their careers. According to STC's 2025 Graduate Outcomes Report released this spring, graduates responding to the survey achieved a reported 100% job placement rate in their major or chosen field within six months of graduation.
This reported rate reflects the college's graduate outcomes methodology and statistical rounding. In recent years, Southeast Tech has consistently maintained graduate placement rates between 98% and 100%.
By collaborating directly with local businesses to align curriculum with workforce demand, STC prepares graduates to succeed from day one. In fact, all graduates in 40 of the college's programs secured employment in their field within six months of graduation, demonstrating the strong connection between STC's programs and employer needs.
"We're proud of the placement rates our programs continue to achieve year after year," Alex Andersen, Career Services Coordinator said. "It speaks to the strong relationships we have with industry partners, the quality instruction provided by our faculty and the commitment our students make to their education and career goals.
Andersen continued, "The fact that employers continue to hire our graduates shows the value of a Southeast Tech education. It's rewarding to see students graduate and successfully transition into careers in their chosen fields. Our goal is to keep strengthening those industry connections and providing students with the support they need to launch successful careers."
These connections include experiences like clinical rotations, internships, on-campus job fairs, dedicated career services and programs like the Build Dakota Scholarship that give students valuable hands-on experience and employer connections, with many students securing positions before graduation.
The impact of these high employment numbers stretches beyond campus. Most graduates choose to invest their talents locally, with 67% working in Sioux Falls and 84% remaining in South Dakota. As the region experiences historic economic growth, STC's alumni continue to serve as a vital engine for the local workforce.
